Dont want to sound like 'Nostrils McDamus' here but clearly i'm a man ahead of my time. A day in fact.
Check yesterday's post # 27694.
On another topic, Renting. Why is it talked about on this forum like its some sort of disease??
Yes, the argument buying vs renting has been a hands down victory to the buyer going on past history. Key word being PAST.
The goal posts have clearly changed, we're no longer the lucky country times have changed since this place was the new frontier and everything was dirt cheap(so dad says).
So, do the old father-son cliche's "rent money's dead money" and "buy land son cos they're not making anymore of it" have validity? or are we past this way of thinking and have ourselves a new generational change in thought regarding home ownership? Looking at the latest medians i think we're going to be forced into change.
Pretty soon all our kids will rent and you know what, they wont give a stuff, they'll be happy regardless and find other ways to make their money as opposed to our parents who've only known of one way.
Gone are the days i think of people tying their emotional security and sense of identity to a dwelling out in the suburbs.
Just my thoughts. Should've changed the thread! sorry.
