Yes apparently the home insulation program raised awareness about insulation and roof fires.
CSIRO data suggests the before HIP short term fire rate was 47.3 fires per 100,000 homes.
During the instal and for the subsequent 12 months it was 13.9 fires per 100,000 homes.
Perhaps all those roof inspections had something to do with that.
I also remember seeing an interview with an insurance company representative who stated that the roof fire issue was overstated.
