makattack, Not sure of their political leanings, but according to the ABS this is the breakdown of Australian population, by country of birth. Might surprise you;
Note the following "In 2005 the number of overseas-born Australians passed 4.8 mill., representing almost one-quarter (24%) of the total population (table 5.40)."
Not saying this is a bad thing, but many people probably don't realise just how many foreign born people reside here now.
