    Rudd losing voter appeal: survey
    8 hours ago3
PoliticsElectionFresh polling suggests Labor leader Kevin Rudd is further losing appeal among voters, which represents a troubling development for Labor, having run a campaign largely focused on Mr Rudd's personality, according to The Australian.

The polling by Newspoll focused on voter opinions on subjective personality attributes, such as arrogance and likeability.

The polling found that Mr Rudd's arrogance rating has jumped 28 percentage points since 2008, from 43 per cent to 71 per cent, while coalition leader Tony Abbott's arrogance rating has fallen from 67 per cent in April 2012 to 63 per cent as of this past weekend, The Australian reported.

Meanwhile, although Mr Rudd continues to hold an edge on Mr Abbott when it comes to likeability — Mr Rudd is deemed likeable by 64 per cent of those surveyed, compared with 55 per cent for Mr Abbott — his rating in that category has fallen from 81 per cent when Mr Rudd was first elected and from 77 per cent since June 2009, The Australian added.

Labor has focused much of its campaign on Mr Rudd's personality and character, hoping to leverage the perception that such a campaign would prompt voters to look favourably on Mr Rudd compared with Mr Abbott.
