Costello may or may not have a point: tis a shame he is too petulent and too gutless to stand up in the Australian parliament as a leader of the liberal conservatives and hold Labor to account.
Whilst Costello is over in the States he should make a study of how a man of character takes defeat: McCain was always likely to lose but even in gracious defeat he was still proud and still calling for Americans to fight on.
