The price of gas will go up when it starts to be exported. At the moment, there is no way of exporting gas from eastern australia. Therefore the local supply of gas is disconnected from any sort of world pricing.
Once there is an export option, local prices will move close to world traded prices.
This will happen as soon as an export facility is built, regardless of whether BG buys Origin. Now if BG buys Origin, the export facility may come about sooner, but it won't be the cause.
