    I do not doubt part of the thinking behind Labor stating they would sign Kyoto was public opinion

    Just as Turnbull, Neleson and all the other libs coming out now stating it should be ratified have the sme motive.

    Which gets back to the point Rudd in signing did nothing more than public opinion was showing the majority of Australians wanted done.

    and does not get away from the fact niether side appears to have done detail costing on the issue.

    One government that does appear to have done their homework and detailed the costing of reducing green house gasses is Schwarzennerger and the California government

    Their target by 2050 is to reduce green house gasses to 80% of the 1990 levels and are predicting an energy cost reduction of 30% and an economic pay off from the development of new and renewable energy production.
