He's just jumped the gun on Gillard as rumour was he was to be sacked on Monday anyway. He comes up looking the better man out of this. All this is a result of the threat of a challenge. Ministers in the Labor party don't get sacked for anything else. To say there has been nothing happening is ridiculous.

We'll soon find out the next phase. If Rudd doesn't resign out of politics all together, it's game on. The fun has just begun.
