    Most here say they believe in a free market economy so would have to agree that there is not much our governments should do about fuel prices.
    Also by world standards Australian petrol prices are about in the middle of the price range though our diesel price is higher than the average and perhaps the government should be looking at ways to reduce the cost of diesel.

    Consumers should vote with their feet and change their habits instead of whinging. Trading in the gas guzzler for a smaller car might be an option for some, switching to LPG which is about half the price of petrol is another option, or buying a hybrid car might be yet another option to reduce fuel costs. You can do these things right now and in 2010 the first all electric commuter cars go on sale and these will travel about 100km on about $1 worth of electricity....just remember to plug it in before you go to bed lol.
