Watching Kevin on the TV last night and tonight he seems to be a guy who isn't really interested in the job - sure, he shows a little interest and reels off the phone nos. to call if you have fears about relos. and stuff - it's obvious he's reading from a script but a junior PR guy or gal in the Foreign Affairs Dept. probably could have done a better job.

I remember another ex leader - Alexander Downer (not PM I might add) , who initially as a Foreign Minister adopted this high profile and showman like approach to the portfolio - he settled down eventually and did a fairly good job.

As soon as Kevin gets over his ego he might eventually acqire Downers level of competence and the respect afforded to by other Countries.
