Melbourne can easily be one, seeing that it is the home of some of Australia's major funds management companies, including Future Fund.
It seems to me that Victoria, more particularly Melbourne, has suffered in the 11 years since Howard became the prime minister. He seems to have promoted and showcased Sydney at the expense of other Australian capital cities. May be it is the Sydney vs Melbourne rivalry thing. You listening there Costello :-)
There are not enough direct flights to Melbourne from overseas which puts Melbourne at a disadvantage in its effort to attract overseas multi-nationals to set up head quarters in Melbourne.
For years, the ATC (Australian Tourism Commission), funded by the C'Wealth Govt, has actively promoted Sydney as the Australian city to visit.
