I agree with Tubby. K. Rudd is totally on the outer with the Labor Party so provides them with a convenient scapegoat for their systemic problems.
As long as they blame him for their defeat they will fail to address the reality that they seem to stand for nothing other than disallowing the government's legislation to go through.
It's very similar to the immediate aftermath of the election where they tried to convince themselves, and the public, that they were a good government with great ideas and great fiscal management (!), just sadly marred by their infighting.
Until they develop some insight they'll not make a come back imo.
