Funny you should see Rudd in that light when most Australians dont. The more extreme the comments that dont stack up with broad public opinion the lesser the credibility of such statements. Only diehard political tragics on either side of politics would IMO make such extreme commentary that flies in the face of public opinion and therefore they are being true to their own intense political beliefs but are in no way representative of the majority view. Successful politicians must have an ability to compromise and bring as many people as possible into the policy equation. The late Senator Edward Kennedy who features in your signature is a good example of this.
