I agree. These subs would be a folly.
Diesel subs are a joke. May as well get a wind powered destroyer.
If we want subs, buy proven nuclear subs such as the Virginia class from the US.
This would have the added benefit of training many Australians in Nuclear power systems. Ex navy guys were the backbone of the Australian generation industry for a long time.
