1) AFL will always be the biggest winter sport in Aus.

2) Rugby Union has grown significantly since it became a professional sport in the mid 90's. It will always prosper regardless of whether it is a college-boys game. It survived for 100 years as an amateur sport!!!

3) Soccer only survives in this country because the Federal Government props it up. The A-League loses massive amounts of money each year.

4) Rugby League will shrink as the years tick by (and as the AFL continues to aggressively encroach on its turf).

Either way, it is now cricket season!
