Exactly. And yet SKT keep talking about growing RP revenues. It's possible SKT through it's agreements with NZR, effectively owns the content, and so it makes this valuable to SKT (Premier Sport grow the subscribers & create the customer interest) as a supplier of content to Premier Sport. Who knows what kind of arrangement there is in place.

But if the streaming demand were to really take off, then (in the long run) Premier Sport just becomes another bidder for the rights. So it will never hold the promise to SKT that was previously flagged.

But then, given how quiet SKT have suddenly become about RP, it's clear that their hopes of growing their RP customer base have had a serious reality check. SO this may indeed be the most astute, and profitable path forward.

In truth, if SKT really starts getting it's mojo back in NZ (as it seems to be starting to), and it remains the most loyal, useful & monetizable path of rights - RP will have to become monstrously (& unrealistically) successful to hold sway with NZR.

    So perhaps it's all good.
