Ruighoek Open Cut Feasibility - Preliminary Diamond Drilling Results
The Company is pleased to announce that CCIC, the South African geological consultants managing the feasibility diamond drilling programme at the Ruighoek Chrome Project, have forwarded preliminary results of the first two holes.
The first group of vertical holes have been designed to intersect the LG6 chrome reef at a depth below surface of 30 metres in the area between the #10 and #12 shafts. The core will provide geotechnical information to assist with the calculation of the appropriate wall angle for a 30 metre high wall open cut. The core will be assayed once all geotechnical logging is completed. The anticipated reef position was projected from the known LG6 reef locations on the historical underground mining plans recovered from the Ruighoek Mine Survey Office. These plans have been scanned and digitised to provide base data for the updated resource calculations and mine design software.

CCI Managing Director, Brian Thomas noted “The Company is very reassured by these early results, intersecting the anticipated width of reef in the predicted position. This validates the work carried out to date on developing the open cut strategy as an alternative to the more expensive underground mining common in the South African chrome industry. In addition it would appear that the depth of weathering also allows for the planning of the 30 metre high wall pit to continue, potentially maximising the tonnes of ore recoverable by open cut.
Yours faithfully
Brian Thomas
