Speculation is growing that the privately owned Samancor Chrome, the world’s second-largest chrome miner, is considering a bid for Sylvania Resources, unchanged at 46½p, the AIM-listed recycler of platinum from tailings dumps at Samancor’s shuttered mines in South Africa. Someone bought a 9 per cent stake from Credit Suisse last month.
