Capital Gains Tax discount. If you sell your shares after holding for < 12 months, the full 100% of your profit is added to your Taxable Income in the year that you sold. However, if you sell your shares after holding for >= 12 months, only 50% of your profit is added to your Taxable Income. You can read about the CGT discount here.
