State Power Group Co. Ltd. [ 1 ] is a Chinese energy company, founded in 2004 by Kai Johan Jiang . The company is organized as a group with primary activities in alternative renewable energy sources, primarily through the development, construction and operation of plants based on biomass based cogeneration . State Power Group also conducts research and development in biofuel boilers, battery technology and wind power . State Power Group and its parent company hold close to 350 patents in these areas.
State Power Group operates or has a total of 40 power plants for biomass in China with a total capacity of 1000 MW. According to the company's own estimates, these have helped reduce carbon dioxide emissions by a total of 7.9 million tonnes.
State Power Group's assets amounted to CNY 12.5 billion in March 2012 [ 2 ] . The State Power Group has over 4,200 employees, of which more than 500 are engineers with academic degrees.
State Power Group, together with subsidiary National Bio Energy Group Ltd. majority shareholder (80%) in National Bio Energy Sweden AB (NBE Sweden), a Swedish company that plans to build an energy combination in Sveg in Härjedalen .
The energy combination comprises [CHP] of up to 150 MW with biomass and an ethanol factory with annual output of up to 80,000 tonnes. The project received a clear sign by Mark and the Environmental Court in Östersund in May 2011. NBE Sweden estimates that the start of a first production stage can take place in 2014/2015. The total investment to reach full production is estimated at around 3 billion kronor in 2011 prices.
Don't think we are going to get a bigger player than this. If AVZ doesn't get any mileage from western analysts from this announcement today then they really have no idea on what China is doing in the DRC or how far ahead they are from their western counterparts
