The capping via UBS, was likely to facilitate negoation to get a good deal, imo.
Other Chinese buyers including funds and investors via CMC etc, probably knew what was happening in the background.

At 29c, AVZ is still valued at around 90% discount of ASX peers' average valuation.
I don't see much downside, but it will go up, imo.
