Normally what happens is you will see a very large sell order which is a line or two away from the actual action just far enough away to avoid being bought up quickly(before they can cancel it's a fake order after all,they really don't want to sell) but close enough to scare newer players into a panic.The new person thinks that a big player wants out and often quickly sells their shares.
