In a course I did at university, day traders lose about 70% or the time. That was in the text in 2001. I know no successful long term day traders but have know a lot that try it for a period and go back to work. Seriously know some great examples of this. Obviously 30% that make it may do very well, so I agree that there would be some very successful ones. Those packages you buy to day trade have all seen disappointment for those who paid their 10 or 20,000$
