I could be wrong but this topic was something i did some work on a year or two ago? technical usually always was a premium price to chemical grade.
the poor cousin to make quality batteries is from a brine source and maybe that's why many batteries we use today have a usable life of 1 to 3 years of daily use. Chemical grade will make a 99.5% purity which is very important for the EV industry and range anxiety. i understand that technical grade will make 99.9% purity and would be sought after by premium brands to equal their brand image. Its not happening now as the supply is far less to my understanding and lower grades are finding a market as buyers don't have a menu.
for brine to come up to parity in quality a lot of opex will change their dynamics.

I stand to be corrected on the above. My humble opinion only.
