Mbalam and Nabeba were so remote humans have never stepped foot where the alignments were going. were talking 60m high cliffs so often the idea was to push the top 30m off into the river below and make a 30m high embankment. this was the case for 500km of rail, rail not road. the earthworks alone were nothing compared to anything ever built. the only reason the directors were found was because they turned SDL into a search and rescue operation. hundreds of planes have gone down over that region and never found. thats isolation
