Over the last couple of years country after country in Africa has been changing the rules so the locals obtain more benefit from their minerals. The DRC has only recently done this with an agreement from all sides of politics, so should there be a change of govt in the coming elections, the new rules are likely to be kept.
Before these new rules it was a matter of when and how things were going to change. Markets hate uncertainty which is what was coming from DRC. Now we have some certainty of the rules going forward, so all the studies can show with some clarity for investors what the true profitability will be.

I don't think those who held CFU were calling me a perennial bull a couple of years ago, nor SBB for that matter, but whatever.

I see risks and rewards in all stocks, what to invest in and stay in is how we weigh up these risks and potential rewards.
Right now AVZ is starting to prove up just how rich in lithium and tin this deposit is, so the potential reward for high quality lithium certainly exists, and after talking to several 'analysts' in the lithium industry, I know how little they understand about the rewards for the whole industry.
Yes there are risks, but most people tend not to shoot the goose that lays the golden eggs. I think the DRC will prefer to get these golden lithium eggs, instead of shooting the goose.
