You are correct, lots of ways to make money (and loose it).

I doubt anyone is making a decent living shorting AVZ when on average only 2m to 4m out of 2.3b shares used to short AVZ per day going on recent averages. This is being considerably small percentage of AVZ shares on issue.

However, good money has been made shorting PLS and GXY where tens of millions (GXY) and hundreds of millions (PLS) of shares are being used on average everyday to short these somewhat unappealing stocks for reasons well known.
