We've always known it's plentiful, extracting it cheaply has always been the only actual concern though.
I don't think his clay mine is going to be cheaper, it's just his answer to the question "Where the hell are we going to get the huge quantity of lithium we need from?"

Even if it costs him twice as much as AVZ lithium might, better that than no lithium at all.
Most of the costs to make a battery are things other than lithium.

But I would say that cheap quality hard rock lithium, such as what AVZ is holding, will have buyers lining up.
