To be fair on the other end, most of us do listen to alternative opinions too. We want good reasonings and opinions but not 1-liner or some weak non critical arguments. I fully agree that we need to be polite and not be rude. No name calling. Ok to criticise ideas but don't get personal. Hence it is OK to say that your idea won't work but it is not OK to say you are an Idiot.
