It was always going to happen. When companies and governments make announcements to be emissions free by 2040 or 2050, they are essentially stating the company will achieve this, but it is so far away I'll be retired and won't have to deal with it.

Good on the EU for streamlining the transition to EV's, 2025 is a MAJOR transition. They would essentially be mandating the transition to begin yesterday and at a scale that goes far beyond the current 20% increase per year EV sales estimates by many expects. By making it law from 2025 would be a catalyst for unprecedented growth over the next 4 years (beginning today).
