Ephraim Masibhera helps AVZ lithium reputation
AVZ Minerals, the Australian junior under fire from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) following media reports about the firm's lithium resources and exploration target on its Congolese licence, which are not JORC compliant, is said to have enlisted the services of Zimbabwean geologist Ephraim Masibhera. Currently a consultant for South African firms Kweneng Group and Nievenda Resources, Masibhera now reportedly needs to churn out an independent report on the potential of AVZ's lithium permit, located near Manono in Congo-K. Masibhera has experience in Zimbabwe, where in the past he worked for Australian giant Rio Tinto and Canadian firm Kinross Gold Corp. He was also a consultant for the clients of South African services firms MSA Group and Bastillion Resources. When contacted by Africa Mining Intelligence, AVZ declined to answer our questions.
