When Nigel took to the stage this week at the roadhouse event, his first words were spoken with emphatic confidence "We don't think we are one of the biggest lithium resources globally, we think we are and by quiet some margin".
The numbers back up that statement, to a point whereby the project has been rightfully dubbed "The Escondida of Lithium".
A question I have had put to me in the past few days required some digging around, If AVZ is the largest Hard Rock Lithium Resource in the world, How does it measure up to lithium brines, clays & Mica ? A fair and valid question that the below attempts to answer.
The Mineral Resources of each project was converted into a comparable Lithium Carbonate Equivalent (LCE). AVZ at current 400Mt 1.65% Li20 is the #2 lithium resource project globally today by LCE. The number 1 project being Lithium Americas Brine Project in South America.
What some newbie investors to AVZ may not realise is the significant resource potential of the the Manono Sector Pegmatites, inparticular the initial drilling results from Carriere de lÉste:

The Current Mineral Resource of 400Mt at 1.65% Li20 for a Lithium Content of 16.3Mt (LCE) refers to the Red Highlighted section below only and is a small section of the total Manono Project Geology.
The Resource Target for AVZ has recently been revised to 1.5Bt at 1.50% Li20 for a gobsmacking 55.64Mt LCE. To put this into perspective AVZ would have a mineral resource size that is larger than the current #3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 JORC Resource Deposits globally combined.
Talk about potential upside and scalability for a lithium project. But then again everything looks better in a graph
Just food for thought, enjoy your Saturday night folks.
