i believe Nigel mentioned during an interview or presentation that they expect approx 20% of finance to be done through equity, and more importantly commented that they plan on doing this through some sort of JV where the party involved would also be part of the mining operations.
Apologies I can’t find the source off hand, maybe someone with more time can dig it up.
But assuming the above is accurate and a true reflection of their plans, wouldn’t this imply a JV with an Aus or European party. FIRB would block any such arrangement being done with a Chinese company.
what are people’s thoughts and guesses on this?
I always thought Huayou would be involved in the mining itself... although not sure how that fits into this.
