OEMs playn games with upstream miners IMO
Stellantis claim to have geothermal European Brine MOU but no one knows who with and I can't figure out who has a significant deposit that is developing/ exploring, it certainly wasn't VUL as everyone was expecting... the announcement with LG
(10k LiOH is equivalent to 166k - 300k EVs that's very little in the scheme of Global competition)
40k LiOH is equivalent to 666k - 800k EVs that's very little in the scheme)
GM playing around with US geothermal brine 'Hell's Kitchen' one that is yet to be proven economical and sufficient, apparently the deposit will only produce enough for 6 million EVs
Tesla claims going to produce lithium from clay yet the technology has not been proven economical.... games! Then 2 days after EV Battery day, Elon signs OT agreement for spod. PLL Piedmont
are they all just pi**ing down our legs
the first 2 have only just announced over the last 30 days
games I say
are the OEMs playn the hard ball negotiating game bluffing to walk away from the table from the upstream miners
I'm surprised there hasn't been any claims/JVs to a significant spodumene miner Greenfields and/or brownfields
that's including PLS, did I not hear the Greenbushes mine was being looked at by Andrew Forrest FFI, why him n not a major OEM?
(scratching my head in confusion)
