Does the finance minister realise the longer it takes to process mining applications, the longer it takes before all the squillions of dollars, earned with the DRC's mineral wealth, arrive?
Ore (preferably high concentrate, or processed further) sold, is money in the bank.
Mineral wealth in the ground is just that, mineral wealth in the ground.
It doesn't build hospitals, schools, roads, infrastructure and you name it.....
So, please finance minister, don't sit behind your desk and contemplate, but lubricate the gearbox of the DRC government and get it to work efficiently, in other words... no more mister nice guy, but get the people to work in a few higher gears.
At this very moment the outside world looking inside, sees a president globe trotting, while his ministries are still in dead slow gear.
Having a mining application go from in-try via an out-tray to the next in-tray etc could be done differently, get all departments work simultaneously and speed the process up.
Or does the DRC has the luxury to tell its people they will have to wait for another century?
