I think yes certainly Zijin had plans for AVZ - I mean remember that media release where they said they were considering purchasing/investing in lithium deposits, and DRC or Africa was mentioned? I think their buy-in was a forerunner of a play for JV/TO/investment, and they got beaten out in negotiations by CATL/Pei.
So makes sense they would pull out their initial capital and go down a different path
