Wondering if AVZ mgmt have investigated possible implementation of Calix' calcination technology (or equivalent) to calcine our SC6 to PLS product instead of conventional fossil fuel heated rotary kilns
https://www.calix.global/sustainable-processing/mid-stream-project-and-calix-testwork-update/
although still in development for Pilganoora, the technology allows " complete electrification of all unit processes (including calcination utilising Calix’s unique technology solution), which are expected to materially rationalise the carbon footprint across the supply chain through the application of renewable energy in the process, as well as the reduction in freight quantities."
this would allow the project to maintain its stellar Minviro LCA defined CO2 footprint through to PLS (currently LCA only through to SC6 production and from my understanding the calcining step not yet modelled for Manono).
