Question - and maybe hypothetical....but assuming there are brokers or parties of sorts currently accumulating stock for index rebalance to parties requiring stock. Is this transaction in the closing auction on 18th - or via aftermarket transfer?
So that is 6 trading days away. So currently the accumulators are taking all the risk - in the sense of accumulating stock with the potential macro risks in the background. Eg: lets say by mid next week they have accumulated 80-90% of target at a weighted average in the mid 80's. Then hypothetically - market/SP sells off over last couple of sessions to below their weighted average. So either they can keep the SP within their acceptable range - or the shear volume of stock in the swap is adequate to drive the price to a point where profit is made on the accumulation. Probably overthinking this way too much - and this is totally not how it is playing out at all....just looks very well controlled when watching daily trading activities.
