index funds move out in a more controlled manner than that , ; they are not obliged to pull the pin the minute it opens and hope for the best ; they can exit over a time frame , days to a couple of weeks.
Im pretty sure their exit strategy is a bit better than yours of ‘thump the red button’ in the first millisecond off open ; exit strategies considering they’ve had ample time to think about it, likely includes cross over with available short positions amongst other strategies ; intermittent recovery pump to release etc etc .
seems there’s also a lot of people out there with dry powder after initial Jump ship that are more than happy to pick up lower …. What’s the supply and demand on cheap shares when the company lands a ML?
