NIGEL FERGUSON

Managing Director, AVZ Minerals Limited (BSc Geology, FAusIMM, MAIG)

Mr Ferguson is a mining professional with more than 35 years’ experience throughout Australia, Africa, Central America, Saudi Arabia and South East Asia ranging across multiple disciplines including general and operational management, technical leadership, mineral resource evaluation and mine commissioning.

He joined AVZ Minerals in 2016 as Technical Director with the initial responsibility to undertake Due Diligence of the Company’s Manono assets in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). In 2017, he was appointed Managing Director and has since been responsible for the overall operations of the Manono Lithium and Tin Project, management of the Company’s Joint Venture with Cominiere and funding of the Company’s activities, raising more than A$75 million for AVZ Minerals to December 2022.

Mr Ferguson has a strong track record within the mining industry, initially as a resource geologist in WA, then progressing to senior management positions for the past 26 years with various entities around the globe. He has been a Director of several companies which have had exploration, development and mining activities in Africa including the DRC, Zambia, Tanzania and Guinea, as well as in Saudi Arabia, South East Asia, Central America and Australia.

Mr Ferguson was a founding Director of Burey Gold Ltd, Ethan Minerals Ltd and Okapi Resources Ltd, and has been associated with listing several other companies on the ASX, LSE:AIM and TSX-V.
