Discussed the possibility of this taking 'years' rather than 'months' as we have been hoping yesterday with a chartered accountant. In order to crystallise the loss sooner rather than waiting another 2 years for administrators report to formalise the loss. I would need an 'independent valuation' prior to 'transferring' the shares otherwise the value would be deemed to be 'market value' which still sits at 78c. Has anyone had experience with getting an 'independent valuation' on shares which would be accepted by the ATO? Not saying this will be a complete loss at the end of this period but that's how I am going to treat it given current financial position, jurisdiction and my own view that 'David vs Goliath' was an unlikely story.
