On August 15, 2023, an AVZ Minerals delegation made a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Mining Cadastre, where it was warmly received by the Director General, Mr. Paul Mabolia and the Deputy Director General, Mr. Jacques Muyumba.

This visit had a double objective. First of all, it aimed to present the civilities of AVZ Minerals to the newly installed management committee and simultaneously, to discuss the social and economic benefits for the DRC of the Lithium exploitation project in the Manono by the company DATHCOM. This meeting was of particular importance, especially since it marks the resumption of working sessions between the Minerary Cadastre and AVZ Minerals Ltd on the above-mentioned project.

For its part, DG CAMI, Mr. Paul Mabolia, was fully satisfied with this initiative and expressed his enthusiasm for the prospects for future collaboration. He also expressed his willingness to get personally involved, under the supervision of the Ministry of Mines, to ensure the success of the Manono project.

As a reminder, this project is of paramount importance, because it has the potential to transform the entire Greater Katanga region through the exploitation of lithium, a highly coveted ore. AVZ Minerals Ltd's unwavering commitment to the realization of this project is harmoniously combined with the vision of the Head of State, His Excellency Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, as well as with the senior management of the mining cadastre. This courtesy visit strengthens existing ties and lays the foundations for fruitful collaboration, aimed at achieving the ambitious objectives of the Manono project.

Recently I watched a great Bloomberg interview with twiggy . As you might expect he cut to the heart of the climate change matter with great passion and persuasion. All our futures are now in the hands of all leaders (politicians , corporate , government ) to act responsibly and meet climate change imperative with immediate and visionary leadership and execution . PERIOD. so it starts with talking , collaboration , planning and execution and of course urgency . This picture appears to align to this eco-existential war cry ; looks very positive and doesn’t convey an ounce of fear or desperation . I still hold that NF should grease the wheels with sone collaborative concessions now in a seemingly position of strength - we all like gestures of peace and forward movement .

Catl are so important to lithiums future and deployment in the new world of renewable energy . The growth in demand will be staggering in the next 20-30 years (at least) and Manono will be an epicentre - vital to the globe and supplying many continents . The scale of the importance of the resource explains the delays to sone extent and Twiggy’s words are so on point. so seeing pictures of stakeholders around the table or learning of Catls enduring support as partner is hardly surprising . It’s been torturously slow and worrying since suspension but it does “feel” like we are progressing in a positive fashion behind the scenes giving us all just expectations that we will eventually be reunited with our dough and see a healthy profit on our currently locked funds .
