It appears that neither AVZ nor its subsidiary Dathcom received any compensation for the relinquishment of the northern portion of PR 13359, nor was this disclosed by AVZ.It seems that the award of the northern portion of PR 13359 to Zijin Mining (which was announced by Zijin on 24 October 2023) and which the Board of AVZ was uninformed of, finally brought the applications by AJN to an end.

It is possible the entry into the northern portion of PR13359 by Zijin was assisted to some extent by the fact that AVZ had relinquished a significant portion of the north (see the Figure attached).
