Granted Felix put Cominiere and Mom in charge but he won't prosecute them until the Court processes have run their race and the judiciary confirms their decision that these individuals have conspired to act illegally to benefit themselves. How many examples do we see in our own political landscape where Premiers and Prime Ministers back their constituents in the first instance? Its what you have to do until the time comes and there is no escaping the obvious. Leaders then have to make decisions even if they don't like it when there is enough pressure coming onto them. That's when Felix will come out and throw them under the bus for exercising powers to transfer the State's interests in mines for the benefit of others and not the people of his country.
I read the Cominiere twitter responses to the interim findings of the ICSID and ICC cases. They will hardly report any findings from the Courts that implicate their actions in the transfer of these assets to the Chinese company Zijin as being illegal, even if the Court ruling is only interim. Felix may end up disbanding Cominiere and establish a new entity on the back of the ICSID and ICC judgements.
The announcements to come from AVZ over the next 2 weeks will clearly shine light on the decisions of these Legal cases and what the fallout represents for the DRC. IMO we have to remain hopeful that the AVZ Board and its lawyers have a strong case as they have always maintained and that the amateurish actions of Cominiere and Mom in agreeing to transfer mining rights to Zijin are confirmed to be corrupt, illegal and without any legal standing.
