For the first time, the Democratic Republic of Congo has successfully concluded a program with the International Monetary Fund. On Wednesday, July 3, the IMF Executive Board approved the sixth and final review of the arrangement under the US$1.5 billion Extended Credit Facility for Félix Tshisekedi's country.
According to a statement from the Bretton Woods institutions, this approval by the Council allows the immediate payment of 224.7 million US dollars, corresponding to the last tranche of the aid plan.
