The Minister of Foreign Trade of the DRC, Julien Paluku, received, on Monday, September 23, the Chinese ambassador accredited to the DRC, Zhao Bin.
The discussions between these two personalities focused on the feasibility of Chinese financing for Africa, estimated at 50 billion USD, as well as on the simplification of administrative procedures for granting visas to economic operators in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo.The Congolese government has set up a Task Force to design strategies and develop bankable projects in different sectors, including trade, agriculture, infrastructure, green energy, industry and transport.
Zhao Bin announced that a commission will benefit from technical support from experts from the Chinese embassy.This support also concerns the memoranda of understanding signed in various sectors between China and the DRC during the last China-Africa Economic Forum held in Beijing. The objective is to increase the volume of exports of Congolese products, such as chili, cocoa, coffee, soybeans, sesame and vegetable oil, to China.Regarding Julien Paluku's request, a list of economic operators recognized by the Congolese government will be sent to the Chinese embassy in the coming days.
