i hold some of my shares via a platform super fund. They didnt get written off, they actually have an odd value of about 5.6c a share which i have no idea where it comes from. But they just simply show as unlisted but still in my assets.
SMSFs year to year value doesn't really matter except for the ATO for those in pension phase. Because they base your minimum withdrawal on a % of your total holdings at the end of the previous financial year. Having them valued at $0 doesn't constitute a crystallised capital loss until the company has been wound up. Potentially just works in pensioners favour as their minimum required withdrawals are reduced.
