They would look at previous experience trading with leverage, position sizes & frequency of trades to determine if he’s suitable for that type of account and fully understand the risks involved.
Income & assets also play a part.
There’s a knowledge test on how the markets work in particular when using leverage.
I’m certainly not offering financial advice just a possible option for a difficult situation if appropriate. No doubt plenty of people will be margin called and positions closed even if it jumps substantially on open at 90% margin requirement when only 20% was required pre trading halt.
