A few interesting observations of the trading behaviour of late. Viewing the trade sheet and movements up to the next shelf, is that a small nibble < $100 is taken to move the price up to the next layer which was then taken out within minutes. This was a rinse and repeat process over the trading days. During this 3k+ shares were occasionally dumped covering a number of cents in price difference (buy sheet loaded up over the momentum). Whether that is to entice others out of their shares by creating the new shelf or draw in the momentum trade. It also appeared the buy sheet was relatively small compared to the sell sheet, whether that be with the psychological aspects at play enticing buyers to buy on market vs hope their order is hit as momentum is moving up. Or that this was a single or group of big players who were the ones actually doing the bulk of the buying.
