If you're the main influencer it makes sense. You front-run it, spruik it to all the other day traders and dump on the run up. Guaranteed cash once you have a following of lemmings, each one thinking they are smarter than the other to outplay them. All the while they make a self-fulfilling prophecy of the charts as they try to get onto the next line up and down to mimic whatever the chart is predicting.
It is just sad, really. A manipulative, exploitative and predatory individual or small group profiteer off the desperation of a larger group. A pied-piper approach if you will.
